Dragonflight was the first Pern novel to be published. IT is made up of Weyr Search, a short stroy which was written two years beforehand, and Dragonflight , the rest of the book. Dragonflight is set at the end of the Eight Interval and beginning of the Ninth Pass and introduces us to the world of Pern for the first time.
